ROSDORNII will conduct research work on the development of transport planning documents for the Astrakhan region and the Astrakhan urban agglomeration. The state contract for the preparation of a program for the integrated development of transport infrastructure (PKRTI) and a comprehensive scheme for the organization of public transport services (CSOT) between ROSDORNII and the Astrakhan authorities was signed on September 13.
By December 1 of this year, ROSDORNII will present to the region a forecast for the development of the entire transport system and proposals for priority areas of work. Experts will analyze the current situation and begin preparing action plans for the development of the infrastructure of road, rail and other modes of transport. PKRTI, CSOT and CSODD will also be developed for the Astrakhan agglomeration.
On September 15, a meeting was held with the participation of the Governor of the Astrakhan region Igor Babushkin on the modernization of public transport. The event was attended by Acting Deputy General Director Ekaterina Bryazgina and the Head of the Transport Planning Department from ROSDORNIA Vladimir Pashchenko. The main topic of the meeting was the development of transport infrastructure and the planned reform of public transport in Astrakhan. During the meeting, ROSDORNIA experts reported to the leadership of the region on plans to develop transport planning documents. Ekaterina Bryazgina outlined the main principles of the Astrakhan transport reform and said that the institute will present the first documents in October.
As part of the development of transport planning documents, a program of measures will be developed to optimize the route network of public transport in the region and agglomeration. A number of other measures will also be planned to improve the quality of public transport services, such as organizing dedicated lanes for public transport, updating rolling stock, ensuring compliance with traffic schedules, and providing information to passengers.
Recall that in July ROSDORNII signed a contract for the development of a set of transport planning documents for the Republic of Crimea and Simferopol agglomeration; and in August began similar work for the Voronezh region and Voronezh agglomerations.
