In November 2021, the Military Academy of Logistics named after Army General A.V. Khrulev published a collection of articles of the All-Russian scientific and practical conference "Innovative Technologies in Transport Construction", which was held in the summer of the same year. Among other materials, the collection includes two articles prepared by Oleg Zhurbin, Candidate of Technical Sciences, associate professor, head of the DIS department of the Far Eastern Branch of ROSDORNIA.
The article "Experience of using the Midas Civil software package in bridge load capacity calculations" was written in collaboration with Irina Zhurbina, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, associate Professor of Komsomolsk-on-Amur State University and tells about the experience of using the Midas Civil software package to assess the load capacity of bridges after damage to the integrity of structures, as well as when assessing the load capacity operatively guided (pontoon) crossings and artificial structures of special projects.
The Far Eastern branch of ROSDORNIA has been using Midas Civil since 2013. As the authors of the article note, this solution proved to be the best, it has versatility in the calculations of various types of bridges and overpasses, from wooden to metal. One of the main advantages of the software package is the method of performing calculations by constructing influence surfaces that allow assessing the load capacity from a temporary (moving) load. This is more convenient and less labor-intensive compared to calculations performed using other finite element software packages.
The article "Directions of introduction of computer technologies in the training of transport construction specialists" was prepared by Oleg Zhurbin as part of a team of authors from the Military Institute of Railway Troops and Military Communications and Komsomolsk-on-Amur State Technical University. The authors made a historical analysis of changes in the field of training railway engineers, identified on its basis the main problems of higher technical education that currently exist, analyzed the shortcomings in the structure of curricula and in the field of computer technology, proposed solutions to existing problems. The article provides examples of the use of computer analysis in the framework of educational tasks, outlines the directions of computerization of problems of structural mechanics and related disciplines.
