The North Caucasian branch of the FAA "ROSDORNII" has completed testing of a binder material based on polyurethane DOROLIT® brand RT-TPI 001, used in road construction to strengthen slopes, recesses, bulk structures, cones of bridge structures. The customer is OrgSintezResurs JSC.

Two methods of strengthening slopes made of crushed stone treated with polyurethane binder were investigated, according to SRT 88902325-01-2014 "Polyurethane-based binder material for highways and artificial structures" and ODM 218.3.093-2017 "Guidelines for the use of polyurethane binder for strengthening slopes, recesses, bulk structures, cones of bridges and overpasses":

  • by pouring polyurethane binder on the laid layer of crushed stone;
  • by mixing polyurethane binder with crushed stone with subsequent distribution of the mixture at the site of work.

The tests were carried out on samples made of both general-construction crushed stone fractions according to GOST 8267-93, and "road" - according to GOST 32703-2014, which is part of the evidence base of TR CU 014/2011 "Road safety".
The results of the tests made it possible to confirm the compliance of the parameters of reinforced polyurethane binder structures made of crushed stone with the values of the indicators laid down in SRT 88902325-01-2014, as well as to formulate proposals for the rational use of various fractions.
