PNST 390-2020 "Public automobile roads. Non-rigid travel clothes. Standard Designs" was developed by the Department of Road Design Methods of the FAA "ROSDORNII", approved by Rosstandart Order No. 1-pnst dated January 16, 2020 and put into effect on the territory of the Russian Federation from March 1, 2020.
The standard establishes requirements for non-rigid road clothes of public roads, applies to standard designs of road clothes of capital, lightweight and transitional types in the construction of public roads of categories I-V on the territory of the Russian Federation. The standard does not apply to the construction of road clothes of city streets and roads; to the reinforcement of existing road clothes during reconstruction, overhaul and repair of highways; to the construction of road clothes in permafrost soils (subzones 1 and 2 of road climate zone I).
The PNST 390-2020 standard includes standard designs of non-rigid road clothes for five road-climatic zones of the Russian Federation, which fully comply with the requirements of PNST 265-2018 "Public roads. Designing of non-rigid road clothes". The range of variation of the required modulus of elasticity on the coating surface of typical structures is in the range from 75 to 550 MPa. As a working layer of structures, all types of soils provided for by PNST 265-2018 are used. The variety of road clothes designs is ensured by the use of both non-reinforced building materials and reinforced with organic, inorganic and complex binders for the same design conditions.
The principal approach to the construction of road clothes in PNST 390-2020 was to ensure the most durable foundations of structures, which will ensure the standard service life of clothes and minimize the cost of repair work during operation.
For a reasonable assignment of materials of structural layers of typical road clothes, a range of recommended values of elastic modulus from the conditions of elastic deflection of materials is indicated for each structural layer.
In total, the new standard contains 175 tables with 3500 designs of road clothes for different design conditions of non-rigid road clothes.
