ROSDORNII is creating a pilot zone on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan. The purpose of creating a permanent pilot zone in the Republic of Tatarstan is to ensure the possibility of conducting experiments and testing technologies of intelligent transport systems (ITS) that ensure the safe movement of highly automated vehicles (VATS) in conditions of real traffic flow on public roads.
All types and models of ITS will be tested on the highways of the pilot zone, as well as their interaction with ITS road transport infrastructure, high-precision positioning systems and a digital dynamic traffic map will be worked out.
Based on the results of the conducted experiments, a scientific and methodological and regulatory and technical framework will be created and refined for the implementation of the provisions of the Package of Measures for Testing and Phased Commissioning on public roads of VATS without the presence of a test engineer in the cabin of the vehicle, providing for their pilot commercial operation in certain subjects of the Russian Federation, approved by the First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation A.R. Belousov 12.03.2021 No. 2189p-P50.
Based on the results of experiments and approbations, the optimal and best technologies will be determined to ensure the movement of VATS in real road transport conditions.
To create a pilot zone, sections of highways were selected on the territory of the Special Economic Zone of the industrial-production type "Alabuga" and adjacent sections of the regional public highway 16K-0809.
