ROSDORNIA specialists proposed to radically change the system of Astrakhan public transport: eliminate unproductive duplication of routes, partially change the routes, use only large buses on main routes with an interval of at least 10 minutes. In addition, it is planned to purchase only low-floor rolling stock for low-mobility groups of the population and mothers with baby strollers.
In total, ROSDORNII is going to organize six trunk routes that will connect the most densely populated and remote areas of Astrakhan with the city center: A military town, a wallet town, the area of Savushkin and Yablochkov streets, Babaevsky microdistricts, South-East, Motor City.
New rules for the carriage of passengers and transport are planned to be introduced by October 2022. According to Igor Babushkin, the renewal of the purchase of buses will be carried out within the framework of the federal project "Modernization of passenger transport" of the national project "Safe and high-quality roads".
In the process of global reform, it is planned to build terminal stations for drivers and stops. In addition, it is proposed to allocate special lanes for public transport, expand individual roads.
The Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure of the Astrakhan region Sergey Ivashchenko made a report and spoke about the reform of public transport in the region. He stressed that the problems of organizing transport services for the population of the Astrakhan region require an integrated approach, and the planned reform of public transport will significantly change the quality of transport services for the population in the region, taking into account all types of transport. According to him, in order to effectively implement measures for the development of public transport within the framework of the reform, it is planned to develop and adopt regulatory legal acts of the Government of the Astrakhan region. In addition, as part of the reform, the issue of creating a unified public transport management system in the region is being worked out.
