Applications were submitted by all regions participating in the national road project
At the end of July – beginning of August 2020, the FAA "ROSDORNII" as a General Industry Competence Center of the road industry held a series of webinars for road workers. In total, 1,689 people showed interest in the development of the road transport sector. This is the second series of online seminars this year organized by the Institute as part of the implementation of the national project "Safe and High-quality Highways" (NP "BCAD").
The conference series started on July 28 and ended on August 4. Each webinar included several topical topics presented by different speakers, among whom were both representatives of the Russian Road Research Institute and experts from other organizations: ANO "Research Institute of TSK", Association "R.O.S.ASPHALT", TC 418, Povolzhupravtodor, SIC JSC "ABZ-1", LLC "Gazpromneft-BM", GU "Main Directorate of Road Management of the Orenburg region".
The first day was devoted to the introduction of a system of volumetric and functional design of asphalt concrete mixtures. The webinar began with a report on the advantages of the technology and justified the practical the necessity and economic efficiency of its implementation. Further, the practical aspects of the production and laying of asphalt concrete mixtures were considered.
The audience was also introduced to the features of equipping testing laboratories for the selection of compositions and quality control of asphalt concrete on the example of the laboratory of the FAA "ROSDORNIA". The speaker from the Institute stressed that, upon the request of participants in road activities, the institution's experts can conduct a study of the characteristics of bitumen binder on modern equipment. The webinar ended with a report by the director of the State Institution "Main Directorate of Road Management of the Orenburg Region", who spoke about the experience of introducing advanced technology in the region.
Another technology that significantly extends the service life of the road was discussed at the webinar dedicated to the analysis of GOST R 58406.1 and GOST R 58406.2: new national standards that establish requirements for the design, composition and quality control of asphalt concrete mixtures. A representative of the ANO "Research Institute of TSK" – the developer of standards – introduced the audience to their main provisions and the features of their application in practice.
Also at the seminar Representatives of the Povolzhupravtodor Federal State Institution, ABZ-1 OJSC and Gazpromneft-BM made speeches. Information was provided on the practical experience of introducing new GOST standards, testing methods for asphalt concrete mixtures and the use of modern laboratory equipment, aspects of designing asphalt concrete mixtures and their adaptation to the production conditions and raw materials base of concrete asphalt concrete plants were considered, prospects for the development of the Russian bitumen market were presented. The webinar was completed by a report of a representative of ROSDORNIA on modern equipment and methods of qualitative control of the composition and properties of asphalt concrete mixtures conforming to GOST R 58406.1 and GOST R 58406.2.
The webinar on the creation of intelligent transport systems, as well as regulatory issues regarding the application of life cycle contracts (LCC), became no less popular among the listeners. Experts of the Federal State Educational Institution "ROSDORNIA" introduced the audience to the latest news in the field of regulation of activities within the framework of the CCC and the specifics of the application of regulatory legal acts.
The participants of the webinar were also told about the concept of creating intelligent transport systems in the subjects of the Russian Federation and about their design, about the experience in the field of transport design in the regions and about ensuring information security in the design of ITS.
The last – fourth – day of the webinar series was devoted to the problems of designing urban transport interchanges and environmental protection in road construction. A report was presented on the specifics of the design and construction of bridge structures in conditions of complex traffic intersections, the audience was told about the experience of using modern design solutions and new technologies in the construction of bridges, overpasses and transport interchanges in dense urban areas and without stopping traffic.
As part of the second report of the webinar, environmental standards in the design and construction of highways and examples of their practical application were considered.
The webinars provoked a wide response from the audience. Both during the training and after its completion, the organizers received a significant number of positive feedback and requests for such events in the future. High many authoritative representatives of the road industry at the federal and regional levels also appreciated the quality and relevance of the reports.
