ROSDORNIA employees took part in a discussion about the future of urban mobility

On December 15, the Swiss Embassy hosted a discussion on the topic of adaptation of cities to climate change "Sustainable urban mobility: a conversation between Moscow, Zurich and Lausanne".

On behalf of ROSDORNIA, the conference was attended by the head of the Transport Planning Department Vladimir Pashchenko, the head of the Department of methodological support of transport Planning Dmitry Kazmin, the head of the department of roadbed structures Irina Rakhimova, the leading specialist of the Department for International Relations Rasim Akchurin.

The main participants of the discussion and speakers were Ambassador of Switzerland to Moscow Christina Marti Lang, Mayor of Lausanne Gregoire Junot, Deputy Head of the Department of Environmental Management and Environmental Protection of Moscow Evgenia Semutnikova, Director of Urban Development of Zurich Anna Schindler, Director of the Faculty of Urban and Regional Development and the Institute of Transport Economics and Transport Policy of the National Research University&"Higher School of Economics" Mikhail Blinkin, Director of Public Relations in the International Markets of Yandex Maxim Kozlov and Director of the Institute of International Transport Communications RUT (MIIT) Irina Karapetyants.

During the discussion, issues such as the future of urban mobility, its evolution and problematic issues were discussed. Experts from Moscow, Zurich and Lausanne exchanged their experiences and plans on these topics.

Anna Sh. Vladimir P. and I discussed the development of electric transport in the future and the most correct solutions in this direction – the conversion of trolleybuses to modern technologies using hybrid technologies and a high-speed network or the transition to electric buses, following the example of Moscow.

Anna Schindler stressed that various types of eco-friendly transport are used in Switzerland and Zurich is switching to electric buses and hybrid vehicles. In this regard, the city authorities have a problem with batteries and their environmental friendliness. The issue of electricity may become one of the main problems in Western Europe.
