Recently, the Department of Transport and Road Management of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug held a round table on the design, construction and operation of highways in the I (northern) road climate zone. The event was attended by representatives of relevant ministries and departments of the Chukotka and Nenets Autonomous Okrugs, the Sakha Republic, the Komi Republic, the Arkhangelsk and Murmansk Regions and the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Representatives of the Ural branch of the FAA "ROSDORNII" were invited for expert consultations on topical issues of the agenda. The round table was held in the format of a videoconference.

I road-climatic zone includes geographical zones of tundra, forest tundra and the north-eastern part of the forest zone with the spread of permafrost soils. The implementation of road construction works in these latitudes differs in a number of features and requires the use of special technological solutions. ROSDORNIA specialists spoke about the experience of designing highways and road facilities for the I road climate zone, and also presented data from field research and monitoring of road works accumulated over the years of scientific and design work. activities. In particular, data on the use of innovative technologies and materials during construction and repair work on the Nadym – Salekhard and Surgut –Salekhard highways were presented.

In addition, experts spoke about the advantages of using the Register of New and Best Technologies, Materials and Technological Solutions for Reuse (RNNT) in terms of testing and replication of promising innovations. Technologies such as volumetric and functional design of asphalt concrete mixtures taking into account the climatic characteristics of the region, surface treatment of road surfaces, cold regeneration of structural layers of pavement, stabilization and strengthening of soils by physico-mechanical and chemical methods, the use of geosynthetic materials and others were presented.

The prospects for the development of intelligent transport systems and plans for the introduction of a network of automated weight and size control points (APVGC) in 2021-2024 were also considered.
