Experimental plots have been prepared in the Moscow region

The equipment of the first two cars, which are located in Moscow, has already been tested. We are talking about universal road laboratories for the diagnosis of highways. Additional calibration of profilometers installed on specialized vehicles and used in assessing the longitudinal evenness of the road surface is carried out on the reference sections.

To carry out such a check, specialists of the Department of Diagnostics of Highways of the Russian Road Research Institute have selected road sections in the Moscow region with different evenness indicators in order to cover the entire range of possible values. The sections were marked, the trajectory of the passage was recorded, basic measurements were carried out with high-precision instruments (leveling and manual profiler Walking Profiler).

After the road laboratories have passed through the experimental sites, a corresponding amendment is introduced in the data processing program. In addition to two Moscow laboratories, autonomous equipment for assessing evenness has also been tested, it will be used in remote regions that do not have a common road networks with the mainland of Russia. For example, with such an already proven device, a team of specialists from the FAA "ROSDORNIA" is flying to Chukotka this week. Experts will assess the technical condition of road sections within the framework of the national project "Safe and High-quality Highways".

The experimental sites will be used in the future – so, in August, another laboratory will be tested on them, which will be delivered to the Golitsyn branch of the FAA ROSDORNII.  In addition, the annual spring inspection of the Institute's specialized laboratories will be carried out at the sites.
