The Russian Road Research Institute has completed a business trip to the Volgograd region. Representatives of the region proposed to hold a meeting with the participation of experts of the Industry-wide Competence Center of the Road Industry (CC), created on the basis of the Federal State Educational Institution "ROSDORNIA". Recall that one of the tasks of the BCC is to provide consulting support to the regions in the implementation of the national project "Safe and high–quality Highways".

In the greeting, the Director of Organizational Activities of the CC FAU "ROSDORNII"Alexey Kovrov spoke about the activities of the BCC, about cooperation with the regions within the framework of the national project regarding the introduction of new technologies:
"We are ready for fruitful cooperation with representatives of the road industry of the Volgograd region, to provide methodological and consulting support to Volgograd road workers on the application of new technologies. It is also important to establish interaction within region – between regional and municipal customers in order to form a unified strategy for the introduction of new and best technologies, as well as the most effective transition to new standards."
About the transition to new state standards for asphalt concrete mixtures, which will completely replace the previous ones, which have not changed in principle since Soviet times, said the deputy director for organizational Activities of the CC FAU "ROSDORNII"Olga Vorobyova. She conducted an educational program for Volgograd road workers about design solutions, technologies for designing and laying asphalt concrete mixtures designed according to the volumetric-functional method. It was also about the restoration of asphalt concrete pavement and the base by means of cold regeneration and stabilization. All these technologies significantly improve the quality of road clothes, strength, durability.
This is especially important taking into account the peculiarities of the region's road network. One of these aspects is the condition of the foundations of the roads, almost all of them were built in the post–war years, designed for loads significantly less than now. Many have the grounds have expired. ROSDORNIA experts drew the attention of regional colleagues to the need for a broad discussion of this problem at all levels in order to find the most effective solution.
