FAA "ROSDORNII" is ready to help in the modernization of the road industry in the region
A working meeting was held in Astrakhan between Acting Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure of the region Sergey Ivashchenko and General Director of the FAA "ROSDORNIA" Alexey Varyatchenko. The parties discussed issues of further cooperation within the framework of the implementation of the national project "Safe and high-quality highways". Earlier (in 2019), the Astrakhan Region and the Institute signed an agreement on cooperation in terms of the introduction of new technologies, the intentions were confirmed at a working meeting between Alexey Varyatchenko and the Governor of the Astrakhan Region Igor Babushkin in February 2020, and on March 5, the first training seminar for customers of road works and contractors of the region on the introduction of volumetric designing asphalt concrete mixtures.
Then the experts of the Russian Road Research Institute told in detail about the nuances of using technology that significantly extends the service life of the road. Meetings are held regularly with the road workers of the region in the VKS mode. Specialists of the Volgograd branch carry out selective quality monitoring road works, the purpose of which is to collect, analyze and communicate to all interested participants of the activity information about the quality of work performed within the framework of the implementation of the national project. This year, 4 objects were included in the monitoring program of the Astrakhan region, two of which are of regional significance, and two are municipal. Field events have already been held for all four facilities with the participation of representatives of contractors and customers.
"Our goal is to identify the most effective technologies of road repair and construction for the Astrakhan region and help apply them," the Director General of the Federal State Enterprise "ROSDORNIA" stressed during the discussionAlexey Varyatchenko. — This year, the region has significantly improved its performance on the implementation of the national project compared to last year, but there are growth points that can be tightened. These are the central laboratory of the BCC in Moscow, and new complexes in the branches: for laboratory testing of road construction materials, monitoring the quality of road works, assessing the technical condition of highways. So, the director of the Volgograd branchSergey Cherkesov announced the delivery of a unique laboratory for the design of mixtures using the volumetric-functional method and confirmed the readiness of the branch to contribute to the introduction of technology in the region.

Now the Ministry of Transport of the region is selecting facilities for trial application of the technology in 2021, taking into account the materials used on the territory, the possibility of asphalt concrete plants and the equipment of laboratories.
The Institute interacts with regional road workers and within the framework of professional development programs. Also, employees of the Rostov, Voronezh, Volgograd branches of ROSDORNIA regularly take part in conferences and other events as speakers and students in the CHU DPO "Center for testing, implementation, certification of products, standardization and methodology".
Another area of interaction between the federal institute and the region is the filling of the Road Fund Control System (SKDF). This is the development of the FAA "ROSDORNIA" within the framework of the national project. Data on highways, their condition, work, financial flows – all in one database.
"SKDF gives access to all interested persons and departments to up—to-date information on the condition of road facilities, both in general and individually," explained Alexey Varyatchenko.
Now road workers face the task of filling the regional block. The Regional Ministry of Transport confirmed the necessity and importance of carrying out this work, since the availability of up-to-date data on the condition of roads allows for a competent and timely response to the needs of the network for repair and maintenance.
