Specialists of the FAA "ROSDORNIA" took samples from the coating laid as part of the national road project
The inspection was carried out within the framework of selective quality monitoring (audit), which the Russian Road Research Institute carries out within the framework of the national project "Safe and High-quality Highways" as an Industry-wide competence Center. Attention is paid to all stages of road works. In the list of objects selected for verification in each region, there are necessarily objects where new and best technologies are used.
Specialists of the Perm branch of the FAA "ROSDORNIA" visited two road works sites in the Republic of Tatarstan this week and took samples of the pavement. It was the first departure this year. Prior to that, the experts got acquainted with the initial documentation for the objects. No comments were revealed.
One of the objects is Tetsevskaya Street in Kazan. When repairing an object on a 4.36 km long section, the technology of laying layers of crushed stone-mastic asphalt concrete SHCHMA-22 is used. This is a system of volumetric design of asphalt concrete mix compositions – one of the technologies that significantly prolong the service life of roads. The crushed stone in the mixture creates a rigid frame that can withstand significant transport loads. In addition, mixtures are designed taking into account the climatic characteristics of the region. The technology is included in the list of new and best.

The second object is a / d "Bypass of the village of Baltasi", during the repair of a 2.6 km section, a BM 2 asphalt concrete mixture was used, it is coarse-grained, stable.
In total, experts took three samples from the sections of Tetsevskaya Street and the road "Bypass of the village of Baltasi" with the help of a core collector. The diameter of the samples was 150 mm and the height was 200 mm. The selected cores are sent to the laboratory, where they will be tested to determine the physical and mechanical properties.

As the head of the quality audit department of the Perm branch of the FAA "ROSDORNII" Nikolay Volchenkov noted, during the visual and measuring inspection of the selected samples, it was determined that the thickness of the top layer of asphalt concrete coating corresponds to project indicators.
It should be noted that the FAA "ROSDORNII" as an external expert, in case of errors and inaccuracies in the use of technology, warns road users about this in a timely manner. So regional performers can make adjustments, as well as further take into account recommendations for the most effective implementation of the national road project.
Selective monitoring of the quality of road works is carried out in all 83 participating regions of the BCAD national project. So, this week specialists of the Vladimir branch of the Institute visited the objects of the Tver and Novgorod regions. Employees of the Voronezh branch worked in the Orel region – visited asphalt concrete plants and repair facilities themselves, selected samples of raw materials (crushed stone of different fractions, mineral powder, bitumen), took samples (cores) from the laid structural layers. Recommendations will be given based on the results of the audit. The Ural branch also visited the asphalt concrete plant and took samples of crushed stone, in addition, it selected 12 cores from 2 sites in the Sverdlovsk region.
Selective assessment (diagnostics) of the technical condition of road sections is also continuing – also within the framework of the national project. Thus, the Far Eastern branch conducted research at 7 facilities of the Far Eastern Federal District – it is more than 366 kilometers. The Voronezh branch in the Orel region surveyed 11 sites on almost 300 kilometers to confirm the target indicators of compliance of roads with regulatory requirements.
