Employees of the Voronezh branch took samples from roads in the pilot region for the introduction of advanced technologies
Kursk Region is one of the first to introduce a modern system of volumetric and functional design of asphalt concrete mixtures within the framework of the national project "Safe and high-quality Highways". It significantly extends the service life of roads, therefore it is named a priority for implementation. The transition to a new technology is accompanied by the Russian Road Research Institute as an Industry-wide competence Center, including as part of the audit of the quality of road works.
Specialists of the Voronezh branch of the FAA "ROSDORNIA" this week took samples from road structures at two sites in the Kursk region. One of them is Molodezhnaya Street in the village of Basovo, Shchigrovsky district. It is part of the public highway of local significance Okhotchevka-Zaschitnoye-Kursk-Borisoglebsk-Basovo, passing through the settlements of Basovo, Titovo, Testovo, Novosergievka, Senovoye.

"Here there is a comprehensive school, a club, several grocery stores and business entities, an ancient temple, a post office and a medical center. As a result of the repair, we will be able to improve the roadway in the locality and shorten the route of the school bus. Previously, it was necessary to make a detour of almost 30 km, now the bus will leave the loaded routes and will pass directly through the locality," says Deputy head of the Shchigrovsky district Yuri Letoshnikov.
The total length of the highway is more than 6 km. This year, a section of 1 km will be repaired. Road workers laid a leveling layer of asphalt concrete mix type SP-22.
The second object for the audit was the section of the Loshakovka-x road.Pensky-Podol". Repairs are also carried out using a system of volumetric and functional design of asphalt concrete mixtures.
"Quality audit is carried out at all stages of road construction works at selected facilities. Documentation, qualifications of contractor and customer personnel, quality of raw materials, compliance with the declared technology and much more are checked and evaluated. We took samples of raw materials and ready-made mixtures, took cores from arranged constructs. They will be sent to the laboratory for further testing," explained Taras Glotov, Head of the Quality audit and Introduction of New Technologies Department of the Voronezh branch of the FAA ROSDORNII.

In total, 77 kilometers of highways are planned to be repaired in the Kursk region using the system of volumetric and functional design of asphalt concrete mixtures this year. This technology is among the priorities for application among the new and best.
