The year 2021 began with a working trip to one of the leading regions for the introduction of new technologies.
In 2020, the Orenburg Region showed significant results in fulfilling the tasks set by the national project "Safe and High-quality Highways": 208 kilometers of roads were repaired using new types of asphalt concrete mixtures. Orenburg road workers have decided on a full-scale transition of the regional road industry to new rails.
However, as the experts of the scientific road Institute noted, even the advanced regions have something to work on. To discuss the results of last year, to adjust the work in some areas, to discuss in the format of an honest dialogue about the problems that road workers face or may face – with such goals, the BCC working group came to Orenburg.
"Raise your hands, those who have already noticed the difference in working with old and new asphalt concrete?" -
with such a question, the Deputy Director for Organizational Activities of the CCC began her dialogue with the audience,Olga Vorobyova. Almost everyone in the audience raised their hand at this moment it became clear that the audience was determined to interact. The conversation began with a discussion of the key features of the technology of volumetric and functional design of asphalt concrete mixtures.
In this regard, the topic of the need to change the culture of production was touched upon: "It is impossible to switch to new GOST standards without changing your attitude to work. Now we have to think of an inter-repair period, not a warranty one: "asphalt will stand for 5 years, and there at least grass will grow on it!" Without striving
as a result, innovations are useless," she addedOlga Vorobyova.
For the first time, the experts of the FAA "ROSDORNIA" had the opportunity to hear feedback on the experience of implementing OFP in 2020. After dozens of meetings and hundreds of analyzed production documents, it was extremely important for the institute to get a live feedback on the technology from contractors and customers.
Considering that the vast majority of the audience's questions affected the work of the laboratory, the next speaker immersed himself in the process of creating the optimal recipe for asphalt concrete. After all, a large number of errors occur precisely at this stage due to a lack of understanding of the importance of the individual processes and parameters. Water resistance, dust/binder ratio, plasticity zone – insufficient attention to any of the aspects will lead to a decrease in the quality of the laid layer – said Victor Damier, Deputy head of the Department for the introduction of New Technologies.
An expert with many years of experience in designing mixtures during communication with road workers gave recommendations on the stages of recipe selection. He outlined the key steps to make this process faster and more accurate.
«Tell me, how long does it take you to pick up a recipe for a mixture? 4 months? This is absolutely normal, the first time it took me about six months. However, now laboratories are able to develop a recipe from scratch in a couple of weeks. And I will tell you how to come to this," he promisedVictor Damier.
The speaker drew attention to the main mistakes, because of which the same work has to be done several times, thereby delaying the design process. Together with the audience, the expert went through the key aspects of the laboratory's work when creating a mixture of OFP.
However, the final result also depends on the work on the production, laying and compaction of mixtures.
Due to the fact that on The event had a large number of issues related to the control of the density of the mixture during the production of works, it was decided to organize a master class in Orenburg on working with specialized equipment.
Another major event is being prepared by the staff of the OCC. It will also be held in the format of an industrial practice. The participants of which will be the "excellent" regions. I invited the Orenburg region to the master classAlexander Tikhonov, Deputy Head of the Department for the Development of Scientific and Technical Potential of the Road Industry:
«Our assistance to the regions will not be limited to meetings and seminars. For advanced regions that have already started using OFP technology, we will organize additional training "on hardware". We will work out the necessary skills when working with an asphalt paver and a skating rink. It is important for us to conduct this training before the start of the construction season so that you have the opportunity to apply new knowledge at this year's facilities," he announcedAlexander Tikhonov.
As the introduction of new technologies throughout the country continues to gain momentum, the demand for support of the regions by experts of the BCC in terms of support is also growing works'.
In the near future, a group of specialists from the BCC will visit the Murmansk, Leningrad, Volgograd regions and the Altai Republic.
