Experts of the head institution of the Russian Road Research Institute have completed a working trip to the Smolensk region
The expert landing under the leadership of the head of the Department for Monitoring the quality of road works of the FAA "ROSDORNIA" Evgeny Makarov worked in the Smolensk region for almost a week. Specialists conducted a field visit as part of a selective audit of the quality of road works at the facilities of the national project "Safe and High-quality Highways".
To check the quality, the experts selected two objects directly in Smolensk itself and two objects where the customer of road works is the region. So, in the capital of the region, specialists examined Popov Street in the Industrial district of the city. The section from Shevchenko Street to house No. 51 on Rylenkov Street is being overhauled. It is more than 3.5 kilometers.
The second object of audit in the capital is Nikolayev Street in the Leninsky district of the regional center. A plot of more than 1 kilometer is also being repaired thoroughly.
The auditors monitored the quality of design, performance and organizational and technological documentation, took cores (samples) from the lower layer of the coating for further verification in the testing laboratory. Measured the thickness and width of the arranged coating, evenness. Experts have checked how the requirements for the fencing of work sites are met.
In addition, experts visited asphalt concrete plants, took samples of raw materials for asphalt concrete mixtures intended for Popov and Nikolaev streets. Employees of the Road Works Quality Monitoring Department also assessed the equipment of the customer's laboratories and contractors.
"In general, there are no serious comments at this stage in relation to the sections that we have examined," said the head of the Department for Monitoring the Quality of Road Works of the FAA ROSDORNIAEvgeny Makarov. – We have announced our recommendations, and the final results of the verification will be after testing the samples in the laboratory of the ROSDORNIA Industry-wide Competence Center. We will definitely inform them to the customer of road works. The Institute closely interacts with participants of road activities on all issues that arise for them – for effective implementation of the national project, creation of safe and high-quality roads".
Recall that ROSDORNII acts as an external expert, monitoring the quality of road works. The goal is to convey quality information in a timely manner, so that if there are shortcomings, customers and contractors can eliminate them, as well as apply recommendations for similar facilities.
The auditors also visited the repaired roads "Olsha – Velizh – Usvyaty – Nevel" – Przhevalskoye and Smolensk – Rusilovo – Repose –Monastyrshchyna. Experts also took cores from covering the sites.
