Working meeting with the management of the BASt Institute (Germany): results and prospects of bilateral cooperation

On November 14, 2019, the Deputy Director General of the FAA "ROSDORNIA" U.S. Kasymov paid a working visit to the Scientific and Technical Research Institute of the Federal Government BASt (Germany).

The meeting was attended by BASt Vice President Michael Rohloff (Michael Rohloff, Traffic Engineering Deputy of the President) and BASt researcher Rashid Urmeev (Rashid Urmeev, Research Scientist).

Bundesanstalt für Straßenwesen (BASt) is a leading German institute dealing with theoretical and applied issues in the field of road management, design and road safety.

The main purpose of the first day of the visit was to discuss the development of further joint work in the following priority areas:
  • Scientific research related to the design and construction of a mobile laboratory installation, the development of which is actively carried out by specialists of the FAA "ROSDORNII".
  • Representatives of BASt are interested in providing scientific and advisory support to the Escandor project, providing the results of the creation and operation of a similar laboratory installation.
  • The parties also discussed the possibility of cooperation in the issue of desk processing data obtained as a result of diagnostics of highways, maintaining a database.
  • Joint research and development in the field of intelligent transport systems, projects and programs in the direction of "Smart City".
  • As a result of the discussion, the parties agreed to prepare and sign a memorandum of cooperation between the FAU "ROSDORNII" and the BASt Institute in scientific and practical fields of activity.

The agreements reached during the meeting are important both for the development of scientific cooperation between Russia and Germany, and within the framework of the implementation of the tasks of the national project "Safe and High-quality Highways" by the FAA "ROSDORNIA".
