In total, the designers propose three large-scale concepts for the development of the road network.
Moscow designers are clarifying the details and working out three options for the development of the transport system and the organization of traffic in Voronezh. According to City Hall officials, the developers have already presented the first working version. Now these proposals will have to be discussed, including with the public.
Well, while officials are thinking, we managed to learn some details of the project from the developers - the Russian Road Research Institute.
So, there will be several options for organizing roads and transport in the city. One of them involves an emphasis on the development of personal transport. In this case, it is planned to expand the main and adjacent highways, the construction of additional parking lots, and, the interlocutor stressed, we will have to forget about their toll.
The second option will leave priority to public transport. But there is no metro, but there is a tram.
– It is planned to create, or rather, recreate the tram network that was, and its further development. Perhaps the creation of paid parking to reduce the attractiveness of trips on private transport, the introduction of dedicated lanes for public transport where necessary, – said the project manager Sergey Mokrousov.
The third is a combined option: in the center – paid parking and developed public transport, on the periphery – conditions for the movement of cars. This is a kind of Moscow option, which will probably involve intercepting parking. There's already one.
Plus, the developers propose to build several bypass highways and, if possible, expand the existing road network, especially where there are the biggest problems with this now. Can you guess what area we are talking about?
– You have a Shilovo microdistrict in the city. We will propose to make additional connections between this area and the central part of the city. But in what form it will be, we are still considering. It can be a highway, it can be light rail transport, it can be special dedicated lanes for buses, – said Sergey Mokrousov.
