On February 8, the head of the Department of Advanced Research and Testing Methods of ROSDORNII Alexander Konorev took part in the seminar "Creation and operation of weight and dimensional control systems. Problems and Solutions", organized by the Russian Association of Territorial Highway Authorities (RADOR).
The event was attended by over 300 people from 63 subjects of the Russian Federation – representatives of the Ministry of Transport of Russia, regional specialized ministries, territorial administrations of highways, research institutions, integrator companies and businesses.
General Director of the Association Igor Starygin and member of the Committee on Transport and Development of Transport Infrastructure of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, President of the Union of Transport Workers of Russia Vitaly Efimov addressed the participants of the seminar with a welcoming speech.Alexander Konorev presented the report "Sensors for measuring axial loads. Development prospects". The expert spoke about the advantages of the axial load monitoring system when used by cargo carriers, vehicle manufacturers, road owners and authorized control and supervisory authorities; the basic components of this technology; features of regulatory regulation of weight control systems in Russia, the European Union and Australia; demonstrated the results of the analysis of domestic and foreign experience in the use of axial load measurement sensors.
Currently, with the participation of ROSDORNIA, a draft of the first edition of amendments to the technical regulations of the Customs Union "On the Safety of Wheeled Vehicles" (TR CU 018/2011) has been prepared, according to which new cargo vehicles with a permitted maximum weight of over 3.5 tons (categories N2, N3, O3, O4), approved for operation on the territories of the Russian Federation must be equipped with axial load measuring sensors.
Following the event, RADOR CEO Igor Starygin expressed gratitude to ROSDORNIA for participating in the seminar, stressing that Alexander Konorev's speech contributed to a constructive discussion of the agenda issues and provided an effective exchange of views among the participants of the event.
