On October 3, a seminar on the topic was held in Kazan as part of the work of the Industry-wide Competence Center of the FAA "ROSDORNII": "Quality improvement technologies for laying asphalt concrete mixtures designed by volumetric methods (Marshall, Superpave)".
About a hundred specialists from the Republics of Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Mari El, Chuvash and Udmurt Republics, Penza, Orenburg and Samara regions took part in it. These are customers and performers of works within the framework of the implementation of the national project "Safe and high-quality highways". The seminar was part of the work on the introduction of new and effective technologies, the register of which, we recall, is being created in the BCC.
The seminar was conducted by Advisor to the head of ROSDORNII Evgeny Damier and Deputy Head of the Directorate of Innovative Development of the Institute Olga Vorobyeva. The welcome speech was given by the Deputy Director for Organizational Activities of the BCC Yuri Belyaev, who spoke about the work of the Industry-wide Competence Center within the framework of the national project "BCAD". At the seminar itself, the basics of designing asphalt concrete mixtures using Marshall and Superpave volumetric methods, the equipment that is used were discussed for such works. They also talked about checking mixtures for compliance with the requirements of scientific and technical documentation, quality control of mixtures and the asphalt concrete coating itself, work with sealing equipment, acceptance methods.
The number of participants indicates a steady interest of customers and contractors in volumetric methods of designing asphalt concrete mixtures. In addition, the listeners left feedback in which they noted the need for further holding of such events. This year, the staff of the BCC planned to hold two more such seminars – in Kursk and Khabarovsk.
