February 27, 2020 during the working visit of representatives of the FAA "ROSDORNIA" to the Federal Road Research Institute BASt (Germany) A memorandum of cooperation in the field of road science was signed.
The parties agreed to work together, which involves the constant exchange of scientific and practical information and the maintenance of scientific discourse both on topical issues and in relation to long-term development in the road sector. As stated in the Memorandum, bilateral cooperation will allow in the future to implement joint programs and projects in the field of road construction, road maintenance, ITS and road safety.
Such an agreement between the road scientific organizations of the two countries has been reached at the official level for the first time. On the Russian side, the Memorandum was signed by Alexey Varyatchenko, Director General of the ROSDORNIA FAA, and Stefan Strik, President of BASt, on the German side.
In addition to signing the Memorandum, a seminar "Cooperation in the field of road science" was organized within the framework of the joint meeting. The topics of the seminar reports were divided into several sections: "Innovative technologies in construction" (Stefan Holler, BASt; Ekaterina Popova, ROSDORNII), "Mobile Laboratories" (Mikhail Ermakov, ROSDORNII; Igor Muller, BASt), "Intelligent Roads" (Jens Dirk, Anke Fitschen, Peter Haardt, BASt; Ekaterina Bryazgina, ROSDORNII), "Road Safety" (Sergey Popov, ROSDORNII; Ingo Kossmann, BASt).
