The Ministry of Transport took part in the coordination meeting of the CIS member States

Belta By, 20.05.2022

The Ministry of Transport took part in the coordination transport meeting of the CIS member states, BelTA learned from the press service of the ministry.

The meeting summed up the results of the work of the industry councils. The event was attended by representatives of the competent authorities of Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan.

As it was noted by the participants of the meeting, digital technologies play an increasingly important role in the transport process, the principles of application of which are considered by all industry councils of the CIS CCC. Another challenge was working in new conditions. There have been changes in the directions of cargo flows, the requirements for ensuring the safety of transportation have increased.

In this regard, the association faces the task of developing new approaches to the implementation of agreements signed earlier by the member States concerning the development of international transport corridors.

According to Deputy Minister of Transport of Belarus Sergey Dubina, who is Chairman of the Council for Automobile and Urban Passenger Transport of the CIS CCC, the territory of the Commonwealth countries has become a platform where all its participants can effectively cooperate and find consensus on various areas of work.

At the last meeting of the industry council, a number of issues were discussed, including the need to amend the agreement and uniform requirements for additional training on the professional competence of international road carriers. "We see that business representatives are actively involved in this process today. One of the conceptual proposals being discussed is the possibility of organizing distance learning. A working group of experts has been created within the council for the practical implementation of the proposals," Sergey Dubina said.

The meeting also noted the increasing role of road transport for the logistics of the CIS countries. The problematic issues related to the implementation of the principle of "seamless" transportation and possible solutions are outlined.
