Construction work on the Chakaten-Kapan road is planned to be completed by the end of the year

Armenia Today, 21.11.2021

In the Syunik region, work is underway to repair alternative roads connecting a number of border settlements with each other. It is noted that bad weather conditions slow down construction work on the Chakaten-Kapan road. The task is to complete the construction by the end of the year and adapt the road for the movement of all types of transport.

An alternative road with a length of 9.5 km is also being built for the village of Bardzravan. It is reported that the construction of new roads Tandzaver-Shurnukh and Tatev-Ltsen has begun. Earlier, the National Security Service of Armenia reported that the Azerbaijani side will place a checkpoint on the Kapan-Chakaten road section from midnight on November 15, and the Armenian side will take mirror measures. Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan stated that the placement of an Azerbaijani customs checkpoint on the road to the village of Chakaten will positively affect the movement of residents of 6 villages of Syunik — Chakaten, Srashen, Shikaoh, Nerkin And, Tsav, Shishkert.

Who monitors the quality of roads in Belarus, and how are modern highways built?

Ont By, 18.11.2021

The transport arteries of Belarus have long been distinguished by reliability and well-being. Work is constantly underway to develop and implement new technologies in the road sector.

Republican highways are the real arteries of the country, which bear the main transport load. The length of the network of public roads in Belarus is more than 87 thousand kilometers. Republican roads cover almost 16 thousand kilometers. In order for the tracks to be safe and comfortable, diagnostics are carried out every year – special equipment goes on the road, which analyzes the condition of the coating. Based on the results of the inspection, a list of sites is formed where repairs are carried out after.

Road construction does not stand still, new technologies are constantly being introduced. A significant part of the innovations are born in the laboratories of the Belarusian Road Research Institute. One of the latest developments that is being implemented now is a volumetric method for designing the composition of asphalt concrete mixtures using the methods of colleagues from Russia and the USA. Simply put, the composition of the coating is selected so that it can withstand all real conditions – from transport load to unstable climate.

Thin and ultra-thin asphalt concrete is used on many roads. This is advantageous from an economic point of view – the thinner the layer, the lower the costs. Tonfiz technology is used for strengthening, which increases wear resistance, thin protective layers and surface treatments. Now scientists are working to use secondary materials in the production of mixtures, for example, asphalt granulate. In fact, it will be a waste-free production.

Pavement repairs are divided into capital and current. How often the road needs to be repaired depends on the material and on the site, the volume of defects and design solutions. For example, the service life of asphalt pavement is 8 years, cement concrete – 20. To put the roads in order, the Council of Ministers approved the state program "Roads of Belarus" for 2021-2025.

In five years, it is planned to carry out current repairs of 4,300 kilometers of republican highways and overhaul of 300 kilometers of roads.

It is planned to spend more than 10 billion rubles on the implementation of the state program. This means that over time, roads and highways will only become more convenient and safer.

Which roads will be built this year in Kazakhstan

Inform Kz, 18.11.2021

The international exhibition "Kazavtodor-Kaztraffic-2021" was held in the capital of Kazakhstan, the correspondent of MIA "Kazinform" reports.

"A large amount of funds is allocated for infrastructure projects in Kazakhstan. This year, more than 10 km of highways are being built in the republic. These are roads in the following directions: "Nur-Sultan- Karaganda-Almaty", "Taldykorgan-Ust-Kamenogorsk", "Aktobe-Aktau-Astrakhan", "Kalbatau-Maykapshagai-Usharala-Dostyk". We need to improve the quality of highways and introduce modern digital technologies," Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan Berik Kamaliyev said at the opening of the exhibition.

In addition, conferences on improving the quality of construction and operation of highways will be held within the framework of the event. The exposition of the exhibition is represented by companies engaged in the production and implementation of modern construction technologies, repair, maintenance of road and airfield surfaces. As well as supplying a wide range of equipment, geosynthetic materials, quality control devices, barrier fences, concrete plants, asphalt concrete plants, concrete mixers, emulsion plants, bitumen modification plants, materials and equipment for horizontal marking.

The event was attended by enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, Belarus, Ukraine, Germany, France, the USA. The National Center for Quality of Road Assets, established by the Government of Kazakhstan to ensure quality control of construction, repair and operation of highways, also took part in the exhibition. The event was organized with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
