  • Abstract: The actual problem relating to airfield support of state aviation flights is the development of advanced technical solutions and technologies that ensure the durability of expansion joints of rigid airfield pavements, which is largely determined by the physical and mechanical characteristics of the bituminous-polymer sealants used for their sealing. The paper presents the results of mechanical tests of BPG samples treated by a constant magnetic field of different intensity. A mathematical ap-paratus has been proposed, which makes it possible to predict with sufficient accuracy the mechanical behavior of BPG in expansion joints of rigid airfield pavements. A comparison of rheological characteristics of BPG 35 with operational ones on the basis of the results of determination of the Fraass breaking point of BPG 35 modified in the magnetic field of different intensity is given.

  • Abstract: An analysis of the current situation showed that there was a lack of necessary control over road freight transport on federal public roads in the Far Eastern Federal District. The movement monitoring of vehicles used for freight transportation is carried out at weight and dimensional control points, which do not provide sufficient coverage of the entire network, and are also understaffed and underequipped. The combination of these factors has led to the fact that at the moment the carriers actually completely ignore the current legislation in the field of road freight transportation. The structure and practical implementation of automatic points of weight and dimensional control are analyzed, a layout of control points on the control network of three federal public roads (R-297, A-370 and A-376) is proposed, domestic equipment of weight and dimensional control that can replace imported ones used on Russian roads is considered.

  • Abstract: The article concerns the possibilities of using spatial analysis through a GIS application to evaluate the results of a GPR survey. Separate GPR profiles contain useful information about the internal structure and condition of pavement structures in certain road sections. At the same time, in order to effectively search for weakened zones of pavement structures and explain their causes, it is also necessary to analyze the relief, situation, and hydrogeological features of the area. Spatial analysis allows to combine different models of the existing reality in one program window, for example, to identify the connection between the zones of pavement layers subsidence, the formation of voids or decompression in the layers of the base of the pavement with the location of underground structures (utility, underpasses, etc.). The description of the methodology of spatial analysis and the results and the results of its application on the example of a GPR survey of roads in Moscow region are done.

  • Abstract: The existing scheme of road and climatic zoning of the territory of the former Soviet Union, which was developed in the 50s of the last century, does not take into account the peculiarities of natural and climatic complexes of a number of regions occupying a significant area of Russia. For the past period climatic changes have been occurred, which negatively affect the quality of design and the condition of the operated roads. The article outlines the concept of the method of road-climatic zoning of the territory of the Russian Federation in order to increase the reliability of structural and technological solutions at the stage of designing roads. The considered method can serve as a basis for making design decisions based on updated data on the water and thermal regime of road structure operation.

  • Abstract: Effective traffic management should ensure uniform loading of the transport network at the limit of its capacity, preventing overload of vulnerable areas, as well as predict the development of the transport situation. A method for accelerating the algorithm for detecting vehicles on satellite images is proposed. The approach is based on the application of a hypothesis filtering procedure after a selective search for certain parameters. This reduces the number of hypotheses processed by the recognition algorithm and accelerates the detection algorithm. The considered method will allow to assess traffic state and the effectiveness of its organization, to identify and predict the develop-ment of processes affecting traffic state, to control the sphere of traffic safety and engineering.

  • Abstract: Currently, the percentage of ash and slag waste disposal is no more than 12 %, while the annual increase is measured in millions of tons. In accordance with the Energy Strategy of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2035, the share of recycled ash and slag waste, in the total volume, should be increased from 8.4 % (baseline – according to 2018 data) to 50 %. One of the most effective and receiving areas of use of ash and slag materials is the road sector, in particular, the construction of road subgrade layers. However, due to lack of extensive scientific and practical experience in the application of these materials in the Baikal region their use is difficult when constructing roads. This article deals with the possibility of using ash and slag mixtures from Irkutsk region in road construction. The requirements for qualitative characteristics of ash and slag mixtures are considered. The results of laboratory studies of ash and slag mixtures from Irkutsk region are given.
