  • Abstract: A method of concrete mix optimization based on the linear theory of packaging density and coating thickness is proposed. The technological basis of heavy concrete recipes optimization based on the theory of packaging density of aggregates was developed in compliance with the standards of the Russian Federation. The basic mathematics are derived based on the absolute volume method, coating thickness and compactness index. The basic algorithm elements for calculating packaging density for a combination of aggregates in any ratio and random granulometry are shown. Theoretical results obtained on the basis of this algorithm constitute a match to the results of experiments conducted in laboratory conditions. In particular, it is shown how to regulate the consistency of concrete mix using the coating thickness as a technological parameter.
